Teaching Program:

Quality education for both boys and girls is crucial in reducing poverty and promoting gender equality. As a volunteer teacher, you will help to empower girls and boys by giving them the skills they need to overcome poverty and to make their voice heard.

There is a great need of volunteer teachers in community schools where trained volunteers will have opportunities to assist with teaching at primary levels. Volunteer teachers can teach subjects, such as English, mathematics, science, social sciences, and can initiate extra-curricular activities. Untrained volunteer can get placement at preschool where they teach basic English skills and carry out basic childcare duties. This role is suitable for a caring, motivated, and self-directed person.

Volunteer teachers are required to perform just as local teachers so as to create harmony. During the school holidays, which run during April, August and December, international volunteers usually take the time to go on safari or just travel to see other parts of the country. They can also use this time to volunteer in the children's homes .

A very important aspect of our projects is helping in educating the orphans and the poor children of Kenya . In the primary schools, there are hundreds of children who are bright and pass their primary school level well but are not able to continue to high school due to lack of adequate finances for tuition fees.

Volunteers Placement Community Development Africa sources for sponsors for these children to help them pursue their education. Well wishers are required to pick a child and help sponsor them through secondary school education.
